Airport Service Agent (BUF)

Position Overview:

The Airport Service Agent is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences within the airport environment. This role involves verifying passenger identification, managing luggage, processing flight bookings, and assisting with the boarding and deplaning of passengers. The agent plays a crucial role in preparing the aircraft for departure and addressing any customer needs, including those requiring special assistance. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and be adept at using airport technology and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Authenticate passenger identification
  • Handle, tag, and lift passenger luggage
  • Make announcements regarding flight schedules and boarding via the public address system
  • Maintain clear communication with passengers to keep them informed
  • Promote additional services to enhance passenger experience
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Prepare the aircraft cabin for boarding, ensuring cleanliness and readiness
  • Operate airport equipment such as jet bridges and airstairs
  • Assist passengers with special requirements
  • Participate in various airport operations functions as needed
  • Perform other assigned duties
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age of eighteen (18)
  • One (1) year of experience in customer service or sales
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening abilities
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Completion of an assessment evaluating adaptability, customer service, and safety orientation
  • Compliance with uniform standards
  • Availability for flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Proficiency in using computers and basic office software
  • Ability to use communication devices effectively
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
  • Experience working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Possession of a valid Driver License may be required
  • Eligibility to work in the US is mandatory
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of experience in customer service or sales
  • Understanding of customer service principles
  • Experience with various payment methods
  • Prior experience in the airline industry
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus

  • Assist with light cleaning of aircraft when time permits

  • Report any safety or security concerns promptly
  • Adhere to all relevant laws and company policies
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced airport setting
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and noise levels
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Mandatory overtime may be required during irregular operations
Physical Requirements
  • Moderate physical activity, including lifting objects up to fifty (50) pounds frequently
Compensation Overview
  • The starting pay for this position is $16.96 per hour, with additional benefits including healthcare options, a 401(k) plan, stock purchase opportunities, and travel perks.
