Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Director to join our team at Fidelity Investments. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our cloud-based data warehouse solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate business vision and strategy into technical recommendations for architectural strategy.
  • Participate in high-level architecture design teams to drive cross-functional solutions.
  • Identify and consult with internal and external technical resources to produce strategic designs.
  • Consult on development and delivery of major technology initiatives.
  • Consult on deployment of major project deliverables.
  • Consult on documentation of major technology applications.
  • Oversee technical implementation of cross-divisional or company architectural components.
  • Initiate and drive project or strategy discussions with users or external groups to resolve issues.
  • Set vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.
  • Plan and lead organization-wide initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas.
  • Advise senior management on technical strategy.
  • Research and recommend new technologies.
  • Work across groups to identify opportunities for organization-wide technology initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.
  • Identify and plan for future resource needs.
  • Determine technical approaches at a strategic level for the business unit.
Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, and six years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering, or a closely related occupation, performing data warehouse development, data modeling, and design using AWS EC2 or Snowflake within the financial services industry.

Alternatively, a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, and four years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering, or a closely related occupation, performing data warehouse development, data modeling, and design using AWS EC2 or Snowflake within the financial services industry.

Skills and Knowledge:

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated expertise in designing and developing highly scalable cloud data warehouses using public cloud computing tools, building cloud-native ETL processes, designing and developing on-premises data storage solutions, and establishing inbound data cleansing capability systems.

They will also have experience with source code management and version control processes, integrating IBM Optim for data masking, and setting up Identity and Access Management (IAM) processes with data security knowledge on cloud data stores.
