Your Role in Our Success

We are seeking a Lead Financial Analyst to join our GB - Global Team.

Key Responsibilities:
Monitor financial performance by preparing and evaluating financial strategies, forecasts, and reports.
Support business operations through data analysis (e.g., current practices, actual performance versus budget and previous years, budget preparation, etc.), and prepare operational data/analyses for dissemination to various stakeholders within the organization (Management, Sales, Product Management, Operations, etc.) who depend on this information for informed decision-making. Track financial performance by observing deviations from planned objectives.
Assess financial health by comparing and analyzing forecasts against actual outcomes. Enhance financial performance by evaluating results and discrepancies; identifying trends; and recommending strategic actions.
Develop financial decision support for Financial Planning & Analysis.
Reconcile transactions by reviewing and correcting data. Boost productivity by creating automated solutions; eliminating redundancies; and coordinating information needs.
Provide management with insights by compiling and summarizing data; preparing reports; and presenting findings, analyses, and recommendations.
Stay updated on industry knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities; reading professional literature; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
Fulfill finance and organizational objectives by achieving related results as necessary.
Responsibilities will include assisting the Financial Planning & Analysis team in the Monthly Operations Review, identifying cost-saving opportunities and operational enhancements, overseeing the annual budgeting process, conducting periodic forecasts, and analyzing operational performance.

Possess knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
Collaborate with business partners to deliver precise and timely results, including relevant variance explanations.

Additional Considerations:
Gain familiarity with Billing team functions/procedures, including but not limited to:
Client account analysis/reconciliation
Client/carrier invoice preparation
Review of Cost & Terms to ensure contracts are accurately established in GB systems
Demonstrated ability to work independently (and with managerial guidance) with clients, account managers, and others to ensure timely issue resolution
Proven capability to manage calls/correspondence within 24 hours while delivering exceptional customer service
Exhibit flexibility while maintaining a highly professional demeanor
Develop an understanding of Gallagher Bassett's claims system and online banking portals
Demonstrated problem-solving skills, knowledge of accounting principles, documentation skills, research/resolution skills, and data analysis capabilities
Collect, organize, and analyze financial data

About You

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience required.
Proficient in Excel and financial management software is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Access and SQL preferred
Familiarity with Cognos and JDEdwards preferred
General Ledger knowledge preferred
Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred
Understanding of the insurance industry
Familiarity with proprietary systems/processes
