Electrical Department Manager Job Description

Dewberry's MEPS Infrastructure team is seeking an Electrical Department Manager for our Raleigh, NC office specializing in Water/Wastewater. The successful candidate will lead a team of skilled electrical engineers and designers to successfully complete projects on schedule and in budget.

Responsibilities
  • Technical and Quality oversight of all project work for the electrical discipline area.
  • Establishing and improving standards for the electrical discipline area.
  • Adherence to project design schedule and notification to Project/Client Managers if the schedule cannot be met.
  • Adherence to discipline project budget and review of project budgets at milestone dates.
  • Attention to project scope during the design process to identify potential additional services.
  • Identifying staff performing design of the project and identifying the Engineer of Record.
  • Identifying milestone dates when each discipline should provide information to allow sufficient time for good design coordination.
Requirements
  • BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8-12 years of design or WW/W operation experience or industrial projects.
  • PE is required.
  • Must have experience designing electrical systems and producing design deliverables.
  • Proven leadership skills delegating to engineering and design staff.
  • Must be a self-starter with initiative, drive, and determination.
  • Good verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills are essential for coordination with other disciplines and client interface.
