Electrical Department Manager Job Description

Dewberry is a leading professional services firm with a strong presence in the industry. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Department Manager to join our team in Raleigh, NC.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our Electrical Department, providing technical oversight, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality electrical design services to our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and project management principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Electrical Department, including staff growth, development, and performance evaluations.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to electrical design staff, ensuring compliance with project requirements and company standards.
  • Develop and implement department standards, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with project managers and client representatives to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  • Manage department budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to meet business objectives.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for business growth and expansion within the Electrical Department.
Requirements:
  • 15+ years of experience in electrical design and project management, with a strong background in construction processes and AIA/state construction contracts.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license and registration in North Carolina and Virginia.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including design, installation, and operation.
  • Experience with BIM/Revit platforms and document preparation.
