FEMA PA Technical Specialist

This is a technical specialist position that will support the FEMA Public Assistance Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance to FEMA staff, including conducting site inspections, reviewing engineering reports, and making recommendations regarding claim eligibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspections to validate and record infrastructure damage
- Review and analyze engineering reports, designs, and as-built plans
- Make recommendations regarding claim eligibility
- Develop or evaluate hazard mitigation proposals and benefit-cost analyses
- Provide analyses and updates reports, participate in status update meetings with FEMA, and identify the need for technical specialists
Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DHS Public Trust clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Science, or Engineering field with 4 years of related technical experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Technical knowledge base and experience in discipline's standard concepts, principles, and techniques as well as in the design and/or construction of public infrastructure
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Google Earth, and smartphone
- Must be able to commit to travel assignments for up to 1 year in duration
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in a related field and professional registration or Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience in a related field
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Construction-related experience a plus, such as civil engineers, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, environmental engineers/planners, coastal engineers, site inspectors, and architects
- Prior FEMA PA and/or CRC experience preferred, but not required
