The specialist will also offer strategic recommendations aimed at minimizing both the frequency and severity of potential loss exposures within insured entities. Additionally, the position includes the development and implementation of tailored safety and training initiatives for service accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather relevant data on prospects and policyholders to evaluate their adherence to company underwriting criteria and industry best practices. This entails a thorough examination of operations, loss history analysis, hazard identification, and recognition of significant risk factors.
- Draft objective, written evaluations that assess and compare accounts against similar businesses.
- Achieve productivity and timeliness objectives in alignment with company standards.
- Conduct regular outreach to assist clients in enhancing their loss prevention strategies by establishing effective hazard controls and submitting improvement recommendations that align with company and industry standards.
- Utilize technical resources effectively, including A.M. Best, NFPA, OSHA, and DOT.
- Review safety literature, publications, and directives distributed by the company.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions at client locations.
- Maintain relationships with agency personnel within the designated territory.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance technical expertise and stay informed on industry trends.
- Be prepared to travel within the assigned territory and occasionally to other regions as necessary.
- Possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record to operate a corporate vehicle.
- Exhibit regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: A minimum of five years in loss control within a multi-line insurance environment or ten years in a safety-related profession.
Other Skills:
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, prospects, agents, and company staff.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
