Job Title: Safety Supervisor

ASR Group, the world's largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, is seeking a highly skilled Safety Supervisor to support the safety and health processes within our local organization.

Job Summary

The Safety Supervisor will assist the safety manager in leading the safety and health efforts within the plant, including the implementation and maintenance of a safety management system. This individual will be responsible for assisting in the implementation and evaluation of critical safety processes, programs, and procedures to achieve goals, objectives, and continuous improvement related to compliance and injury reduction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as primary backup for the EHS Manager in their absence.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with federal and state OSHA requirements and applicable consensus standards.
  • Provide direct support in developing and implementing facility policies and practices as part of our efforts to achieve ISO 45001 certification.
  • Assist in creating and providing support as requested to achieve annual plant safety goals.
  • Work in a team environment to continuously improve performance related to injury/illness prevention, compliance assurance, safety auditing, incident investigation, and employee training.
Requirements
  • 2 to 4 years of occupational safety and health experience in industrial operations.
  • Knowledgeable of federal, state, and local regulations as well as relevant consensus standards (e.g., ANSI, NFPA).
  • Knowledge of Behavioral Safety Auditing techniques.
  • Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis education or experience.
  • Ability to coach and train employees.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (to include but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
