Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative II to join our team at MHS Physicians of Texas. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, collecting demographic and insurance information, and ensuring the financial integrity of our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule patient appointments and enter required information in our computer system with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collect demographic, insurance, and financial information from patients or guarantors and enter it into our system with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Explain required forms to patients or guarantors and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Ensure medical necessity compliance by obtaining necessary data, reviewing our Compliance System, and communicating information to patients or guarantors.
  • Protect the financial integrity of our facility by collecting patient liability, establishing payment arrangements, discussing payment options, and screening for eligibility.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits and ensure all notifications and authorizations are completed within required timeframes.
  • Post payments in our computer system and generate patient receipts.
  • Monitor, review, and resolve patient account issues on assigned reports.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with physicians, ancillary departments, nursing units, physicians' office staff, insurance companies, patients, and their families.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, and supporting department-based goals.
  • Demonstrate commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
Requirements
  • Two years of experience in a hospital or customer service setting.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Proficient typing/keyboarding skills.
