Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant I to join our team at Planned Parenthood of Michigan. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our Clinical Research Department, ensuring the smooth execution of research projects.

Key Responsibilities


  • Assist with research projects as assigned by the Research Director, ensuring timely completion and adherence to protocol requirements.
  • Complete and submit regulatory documents to IRBs and Sponsors as required, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Recruit, interview, and consent study participants in English or Spanish, adhering to ICH/GCP guidelines and PPGC Research SOPs.
  • Maintain inventory and stock of exam room and lab supplies, ensuring adequate resources for research activities.
  • Record, transcribe, and maintain accurate data for multiple studies within deadlines, in both hard copy and electronic formats.
  • Record and reconcile subject compensation funds, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on completed documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform laboratory functions, including aliquoting, processing, logging, and shipping subject biologic samples as applicable.
  • Schedule Research Subject appointments within designated protocol timeframes.
  • Maintain source documents, medical records, case report forms, and regulatory files according to study protocol and PPGC Research SOPs.
  • Ensure confidentiality of clients and employee records, adhering to data protection policies.
  • Communicate and present study information to health center staff, facilitating client care and referrals.
  • Track and document staff and HC enrollment on established reports.
  • Clean, autoclave, and maintain sterile instruments in Research Exam rooms.


Requirements


  • High school equivalency or GED.
  • 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in a health care setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness to receive research training and function as a Research Assistant.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking candidates.


Work Environment

The work environment is a dynamic and fast-paced health care setting, with occasional exposure to outdoor weather. The noise level is usually quiet.
