We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Coordinator to support the translational research projects in the Upper GI Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

The salary for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description:

The primary purpose of this role is to apply technical expertise to collect and analyze clinical data for research projects. This involves planning, organizing, and assisting Principal Investigators to direct complex research projects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plans and organizes research projects involving detection and elimination of gastro-esophageal cancers.
  • Maintains accurate databases for each project and monitors patient information from medical records.
  • Assists with clinical data analysis and reports results of analyses including original data and conclusions.
  • Gathers information for in-depth medical knowledge of GI cancer biology, human immunology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics.
  • Writes manuscripts and prepares drafts of protocols, SOPs, and grant reports.
  • Screens and enrolls patients for translational research protocols, including taking informed consent.
  • Categorizes slides and blocks and enters availability of specimens in the database.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Nursing, or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Three years of related experience, or additional years of education may be substituted for experience on a one-to-one basis.
