Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Customer Service Representative to join our team at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a key member of our 24/7 Call Center, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide accurate information in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate Effectively: Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Problem-Solve and Troubleshoot: Identify and resolve customer complaints and issues in a fair and timely manner.
  • Work Collaboratively: Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure seamless communication and resolution of customer issues.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Maintain a thorough knowledge of healthcare policies, procedures, and systems to provide accurate and informed responses to customers.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • Experience: One year of experience in a healthcare setting, including a physician's office, health insurance/HMO, or other community agency.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills required. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Two-year degree in a health-related or liberal arts field, or a course in medical terminology. Call center and healthcare experience a plus.
