Job Title: Divisional HR Manager - Temp/Interim

Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Divisional HR Manager - Temp/Interim to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing strategic HR support to our divisional leadership, field officers, and line managers. Your expertise will help us achieve our mission and ensure compliance with state laws and Salvation Army policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide HR support, oversight, and consultation to divisional leadership, field officers, and line managers.
  • Recruitment, selection, orientation, leadership development, and training.
  • Employee relations, human resources-related policies and procedures, employment law, retention, compensation administration, and HRIS management.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the HR department in the absence of the HR Director.
  • Assist in developing position descriptions and creating position postings for circulation.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed personnel and benefits records and databases.
  • Work closely with the Payroll Department to ensure payroll policy and procedures comply with Salvation Army policy and Wage and Hour laws and regulations.
  • Provide coaching and feedback on how to improve individual or organizational performance.
  • Perform and review Exit Interviews and share with the HR Director when necessary.
  • Provide training for supervisors and employees on HR-related issues affecting the workplace.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with California training requirements for Sexual Harassment training for supervisors and employees.
  • Assist with investigations regarding sexual harassment and discrimination.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Human Resources Law, Psychology, Education, or Business.
  • PHR/SPHR or PHR-CA/SPHR-CA certification is preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of effective Human Resources Management experience.
  • Experience in a non-profit setting is desirable.
  • Recognized administrative and management skills.
  • Ability to work with organizational leadership and corporate management on a wide range of personnel-related issues.
  • Demonstrated expertise in communications and interpersonal skills amongst diverse populations and cultural groups.
  • Working knowledge of California labor laws, workers' compensation, health and welfare plans, salary administration, and employee benefits.
