Job Title: Assistant Business Manager

Join Tarragon Property Services as an Assistant Business Manager and take the first step towards a rewarding career in property management. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Business Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Business Manager in supervising staff and managing the property in their absence.
  • Work closely with the Business Manager to develop an integral team that effectively sells the quality and professionalism of Tarragon Property Services.
  • Inspect property common areas, apartment units, and grounds on a regular basis and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Understand financial and operational reporting requirements and assist in monitoring and recording paid invoices.
  • Collect and post all rent payments from current and previous residents, charge deposits and move-in fees, and make daily community deposits.
  • Distribute non-payment notices to delinquent residents and complete follow-up activity for non-payment of rent or eviction proceedings.
  • Maintain a general working knowledge of state laws regarding collection of delinquent accounts.
  • Input daily resident information, maintain current and previous resident files, and update Weekly Property Reports.
  • Assist the Manager in ensuring accurate completion of leases and addendums.
  • Support overall marketing efforts and provide input on promotions, advertisements, and rate increases.
  • Assist with leasing activities, maintain market knowledge, and analyze concerns associated with slow-to-lease apartments.
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner at all times and maintain positive resident relations.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential.
  • A valid driver's license, sound driving record, and auto insurance are required.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in preparing Word documents and Excel spreadsheets are necessary.
  • Yardi Voyager software experience is highly desirable but not required.
  • A Business, hospitality, or property management background is preferred.
