As a Clinical Administrative Coordinator at Optum, you will play a vital role in supporting the Allina Health account. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with the flexibility to work during our normal business hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm CST. Occasional overtime may be required, depending on the business need. Our office is located in Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis, MN.

We provide 4-6 weeks of paid training, with hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. You will be required to travel onsite for the first 4-6 weeks to complete training at our Chicago Avenue location in Minneapolis, MN.

If you are located in MN or WI, you will have the flexibility to work remotely as you take on some challenging tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and maintain accurate health information records.
  • Review electronic chart documentation to ensure correct patient, location, and no duplicate information.
  • Process release of information (ROI) requests.
  • Manage requests for documentation and information.
  • Scan and edit documents in the electronic medical record.
  • Locate, log, retrieve, file, and deliver medical records stored in various mediums and systems.
  • Distribute reports and results.
  • May train and mentor co-workers.
  • Analyze documentation and track completion to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Promote principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability.
  • Work with Microsoft Word, Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets), and Outlook (email and calendar management).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • 1+ years of experience in health information management (HIM) or 1+ year of experience working in customer service within healthcare or insurance industries.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management).
  • Reside within a commutable distance of Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis, MN.
  • Ability to travel onsite for the first 4-6 weeks to complete training at Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis, MN.
  • Ability to work between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm CST from Monday to Friday.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of healthcare customer service experience.
  • RHIT or RHIA certification.
  • Experience working in a call center.
  • Clerical or administrative support background.
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office, or medical clinic setting.
  • Experience working within the healthcare industry and with healthcare insurance.
Telecommuting Requirements
  • Ability to keep all company-sensitive documents secure (if applicable).
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group-approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
