Job Overview

Position Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Employee Benefits Specialist to oversee our comprehensive benefits programs. In this position, you will be responsible for the administration and management of various employee benefits, including health insurance, dental and vision plans, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and various leave policies such as Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD). You will also ensure compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other relevant state-specific leave regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance to employees regarding their benefits options, including health, dental, vision, EAP, and various leave programs.
  • Administer FMLA and state-specific leave laws, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations.
  • Act as the primary liaison for benefits vendors, managing relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Coordinate the annual open enrollment process, facilitating communication and education for employees.
  • Oversee the administration of the 401(k) plan, ensuring compliance with all audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the preparation and distribution of necessary compliance documents, including 1095 forms.
  • Process changes in employee benefits as part of the employee lifecycle.
  • Develop and refine policies and procedures related to benefits administration.
  • Provide support for HRIS and compensation administration as needed.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to create and implement effective benefits policies.
  • Stay informed about changes in benefits legislation to maintain compliance across all programs.
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of educational materials regarding benefits for employees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration.
  • Thorough understanding of benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, EAP, and various leave laws.
  • Strong knowledge of 401(k) plan administration and compliance.
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships and coordinating open enrollment activities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively assist employees with benefits-related inquiries.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits management systems.
  • Ability to stay updated on changes in benefits laws and regulations.
