Role Overview:
The Capital Management division is integral to the Balance Sheet Management function within Corporate Treasury. We are seeking a Senior Treasury Analyst to assist the organization in its evolution towards becoming a $100B+ LFI bank.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aggregate forecast inputs, ensuring effective challenge and controls to maintain data integrity.
- Contribute to the enhancement and ongoing development of forecasting tools for regulatory capital, as well as on and off-balance sheet risk-weighted assets for both business-as-usual and stress testing scenarios. Conduct detailed attribution analysis to inform management and the Board about capital trend drivers. Execute thorough variance analysis/backtesting to improve forecasting accuracy.
- Enhance and support the implementation of stress testing frameworks.
- Assist in the formulation of the annual capital plan, stress testing, and monitoring of capital targets and limits.
- Support the evaluation of capital structure alternatives in alignment with overarching strategic goals and capital allocation analysis.
- Establish necessary controls for firm-wide stress testing.
- Assist in the analysis, development, and reporting of capital-related risk limits and early warning indicators.
- Collaborate closely with other Corporate Treasury teams, including Liquidity Management, ALM, and Investments, as well as Internal Audit, Model Risk, and Risk Management. Work with FP&A to integrate the latest forecasts into capital projections. Engage with Regulatory Reporting to ensure capital positions are consistent.
- Update and maintain process documentation and record newly developed processes.
- The candidate will be a vital member of a team responsible for the firm's capital management, including forecasting and firm-wide capital management frameworks. The ideal candidate should possess Treasury or finance/banking experience, along with project management, analytical, and strong communication skills.
- Oversee multiple processes related to capital management and capital stress testing.
- Effectively partner with key stakeholders across the first, second, and third lines of defense.
- Assist the team in refining and supervising the implementation of regulatory capital and risk-weighted asset forecasting.
- Support the Capital Management team in innovating, developing, and sustaining the capital management function to ensure compliance with LFI requirements over time.
- Monitor firmwide and legal entity capital positions.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations for various committees and the Board of Directors.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Treasury or the finance/banking sector.
- Experience at an LFI firm ($100B+) or a business consulting firm is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to contribute to executive-level presentations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Advanced Excel skills are preferred.
- Experience with balance sheet and P&L forecasting is preferred.
- Familiarity with banking regulations is preferred.
