Job Overview:
Dewberry is in search of a Water/Wastewater Construction Quality Inspector to join our team. This role is essential for supporting both small and large-scale infrastructure initiatives.

The Inspector will engage in a variety of tasks including managing construction documentation, conducting inspections, and gathering field data necessary for processing pay applications. Additionally, the role involves establishing quantity and cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee contractor activities to ensure compliance with contract plans, provisions, and specifications.

Proactively identify field issues and discuss potential solutions with supervisors and contractors.


Advise contractors on safety procedure violations and recommend necessary adjustments for compliance.


Conduct field measurements of pay items; maintain daily logs, materials notebooks, redline as-built plans, and understand progress schedules, work orders, and monthly estimates.

Supervise and document materials testing, including soil compaction, concrete, and asphalt field tests.

Document all field activities and collaborate effectively with both the owner and contractor.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required.

An Associate's degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

At least 6 years of experience in construction inspection, with a preference for experience in water or wastewater facility inspection.

The applicant should possess experience with foundations, buildings, underground utilities, earthwork, asphalt, and concrete.

Must work efficiently to meet project deadlines.

Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with clients, coworkers, sub-consultants, contractors, and agency review staff.


Additional requirements include strong communication skills, the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, and proficiency in performing quantity and engineering calculations.

Must be physically capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.


Ability to repetitively stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs; this includes body weight, equipment, tools, and boxes, along with the ability to stand for extended periods on varied surfaces.

A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
