POSITION OBJECTIVE

The primary role is to uphold and enforce safety protocols established by Ascent Aviation, aimed at identifying and mitigating criminal activities. This position is crucial for safeguarding the facility, the assets housed within, and the personnel operating on-site.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Physical Requirements:
This role necessitates prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking. It involves frequent bending and stooping, with occasional requirements for climbing, reaching overhead, crouching, squatting, kneeling, and balancing. The position may require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling weights up to 50lbs without assistance. Adequate hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are essential, along with corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges. The role may involve working under pressure and responding to emergency situations.

Equipment Utilized: Two-way radio, computer systems, and security patrol vehicles.

Work Settings: This position entails both indoor and outdoor responsibilities across the entire facility.

Potential Risks: Encounters with armed individuals, exposure to high noise levels, extreme temperature variations, materials specified in Safety Data Sheets, desert wildlife and insects, and working at heights or near moving machinery.

Qualifications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Duties:

  • Conducts monitoring and patrolling of the Air Park, both via vehicle and on foot, to ensure the security of company assets and aircraft stored on-site.
  • Identifies and reports hazardous areas within the facility.
  • Acts as the first responder to aircraft emergencies or other incidents occurring on the premises.
  • Investigates incidents or accidents, documenting findings with photographs and diagrams.
  • Manages visitor access to the Air Park, issuing parking permits and visitor identification.
  • Engages with individuals seeking entry to restricted areas, verifying their authorization and detaining unauthorized personnel as necessary.
  • Performs visual inspections of the premises for unauthorized access, including entering buildings and/or aircraft.
  • Conducts searches of vehicles or individuals as required.
  • Regulates on-site traffic, including vehicle stops and issuing citations when warranted.
  • Collects and records statements from witnesses and involved parties regarding incidents such as personal injuries, property damage, fire, or theft.
  • Completes and submits daily activity reports for the security department.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provides escort services for visitors upon request.
  • Ensures accurate documentation of training received, signed by a Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.
  • Performs housekeeping duties within the department as needed.
  • Promotes a safe working environment by directing activities to protect employees from harm.

SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (SMS) COMMITMENTS

  • Engages in and supports safety initiatives, safe work practices, and SMS compliance.
  • Participates in safety activities, including the immediate reporting of hazards, unsafe practices, and accidents/injuries.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations, FAA guidelines, PPE compliance, and equipment operation protocols.
