Electrical Expertise Specialist

Job Summary
This position is responsible for advancing the skills and training of the bargaining unit workforce in the Electrical Department at ASARCO LLC. The successful candidate will work closely with Silver Bell electricians to ensure knowledge transfer and the use of best practices for the electrical maintenance field.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual mentoring and training for electricians to advance their knowledge and troubleshooting skills of all equipment.
- Work in all areas of electrical to train and assist, when necessary, in the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all equipment.
- Review current maintenance programs and recommend changes or practices that will improve reliability.
- Develop and implement action plans to improve the reliability of problematic equipment.
- Assist in the planning of maintenance on all equipment.
- Ensure engagement with all electricians so that they view this position as a resource to call upon when needed for technical support.
- Continually reinforce best safety practices and ensure electricians know the hazards associated with working around electricity.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the mining industry
- Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of AC/DC systems, drives, and electric shovels
Additional Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
- Must be able to walk over rough terrain, sit, climb ladders and stairs, squat, kneel for extended periods of time.
