POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical Receptionist serves as the initial point of contact for patients at Charles Drew Health Center, embodying the role of the Director of First Impressions. This position is pivotal in delivering outstanding customer service consistently. The individual will provide a high level of reception services to both patients and staff, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Exhibit exceptional customer service skills.
- Demonstrate effective communication abilities and collaborate closely with team members.
- Manage appointment scheduling using the clinic's practice management software.
- Organize and maintain patient documentation efficiently.
- Handle inquiries with professionalism and promptness.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of healthcare services to assist patients effectively.
- Greet and assist patients and visitors courteously.
- Process co-payments and maintain accurate financial records.
- Track patient no-shows and cancellations to optimize scheduling.
- Meet performance goals related to appointment creation and rescheduling.
- Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate sensitivity in handling personal matters.
- Educate patients regarding services and financial responsibilities.
- Utilize various information technology systems to support appointment processing.
- Refer patients to internal providers as necessary.
- Adhere to all relevant policies and guidelines.
- Participate in routine meetings and training sessions.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma required.
Experience: Minimum of three years in customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills; proficiency in NextGen; ability to manage multiple tasks independently; knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous.
Language: English proficiency required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position may involve exposure to various environmental factors. Personal protective equipment will be provided to ensure safety.
