Join Our Team as a Lead Technical Program Manager
Are you enthusiastic about the gaming industry? Do you possess a strong background in program management and a desire to contribute to the development of groundbreaking games? We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Lead Technical Program Manager to support the IT teams within Microsoft Games.
At Microsoft Games, our vision is to spread the joy and community of gaming to every corner of the globe.
We strive to achieve this by placing players at the forefront, enabling them to enjoy their favorite games with friends, wherever they may be.
The Gaming Player Services and Operations (GPSO) team is pivotal in our goal to engage billions of players worldwide, ensuring inclusivity and engagement across the Xbox platform.
Our commitment lies in driving operational excellence through innovative solutions, ensuring satisfaction for both players and partners within Microsoft Gaming.
As part of GPSO, the Xbox Services & Operations (XSO) team is dedicated to developing and maintaining services that enhance customer engagement and foster player growth within the Microsoft Gaming ecosystem.
A key aspect of this role involves adopting and creating cloud-based solutions.
We leverage the capabilities of the Azure Cloud platform while investing in engineering complementary observability and manageability solutions to optimize our gaming operations.
This approach allows us to implement consistent and scalable solutions across existing Xbox services, facilitating broad adoption among our gaming partners and assisting acquisitions in successfully migrating to Azure Cloud with a focus on operational excellence.
The ultimate goal is to ensure that all systems within our Microsoft Gaming portfolio operate on modern cloud capabilities, thereby mitigating the challenges and risks associated with outdated infrastructure and legacy systems.
In this role, you will cultivate collaborative relationships with business partners in gaming, aiding in the development of unified cloud adoption strategies and supporting the consultation or engineering execution of migrations.
You will work across various organizational boundaries to support over 30 first-party game studios that comprise the broader Xbox Games Studios organization.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating extensive IT initiatives that leverage new technologies to assist our developers in creating exceptional games. Microsoft's mission is to empower every individual and organization on the planet to achieve more.
As part of our team, we embrace a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to achieve our collective goals.
Every day, we uphold our values of respect, integrity, and accountability, fostering a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive both at work and beyond.
This position offers the possibility of remote work, and relocation assistance is available if required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and prioritize IT projects and initiatives.
- Oversee deliverables for IT projects, including tracking, scheduling, and reporting.
- Integrate management tools for IT service management, such as Jira Service Management and OpsGenie.
- Develop ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.
- Manage customer-initiated requests and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Build a community among IT professionals to address systemic challenges and devise innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with Microsoft Product Groups to create impactful solutions for Xbox Game Studios.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
Preferred:
- Previous experience as a Program Manager in IT or DevOps for software products or services.
- Familiarity with project management software such as Jira and Azure DevOps.
- Basic knowledge of current IT technologies, including networks, databases, cloud services, security, and programming.
- Experience in the gaming or technology sectors.
