We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at Presbyterian Villages of Michigan. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all food production, including resident and guest meals, catering, and special events.
Key Responsibilities- Menu Planning and Execution: Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents, while ensuring quality and value.
- Culinary Operations: Oversee the preparation and service of food and beverages, ensuring adherence to standards for preparation, presentation, portion control, safety, and sanitation.
- Staff Management: Supervise and train culinary staff, including interviewing, hiring, and developing employees under the direction of the Director of Dining Services.
- Procurement and Inventory: Manage food and supply purchasing, ensuring compliance with approved vendors and procedures.
- Quality Control: Conduct ongoing evaluations and investigate complaints to maintain product and service quality standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Presbyterian Villages of Michigan policies and procedures.
- Education: Culinary degree or certification, with 3 years of experience if certification only.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in culinary management, with prior management experience desirable.
- Computer Skills: Ability to operate a computer and use Microsoft Office, as well as vendor online ordering systems.
- Certifications: Valid Food Handlers Certification.
- Excellent Math Skills: Ability to manage budgets and inventory.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups.
