This collaborative project aims to understand how the immune microenvironment influences the development of immune evasion and resistance to therapies.
The selected candidate will concentrate on crafting and utilizing computational tools to analyze immune responses in cancer, employing cutting-edge deep learning methodologies and spatial omics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Innovate computational techniques to merge spatial transcriptomics with histopathological imaging data.
- Perform analyses to identify and characterize various immune processes across different cancer types.
- Publish and present research outcomes in reputable scientific journals and at conferences.
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment, promoting open communication and mutual respect to ensure effective teamwork and cooperation.
Required Qualifications:
- Recent or soon-to-be Ph.D. graduate with formal training in fields such as Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computational Pathology, Computer Science, Genomics, Genetics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Experience in genomic analysis, image processing, machine learning, or bioinformatics, particularly in biomedical and translational contexts.
- Familiarity with spatial transcriptomics and histopathological image analysis is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, C++, etc.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting.

Salary:
MD Anderson adheres to NIH stipend levels as outlined by the Kirchstein – NRSA. This full-time trainee position offers a salary range between $65,000 and $74,088, depending on the candidate's years of postgraduate experience.
