Postdoctoral Fellow Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team as a computational scientist in the laboratory of Dr. Kunal Rai at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

The successful candidate will work on the discovery of cancer-driving epigenome networks by applying computational methods for the analysis of single-cell multiome and spatial transcriptomics and epigenomics datasets. They will also collaborate with a group of wet lab and computational scientists to derive novel biological insights and identify biomarkers and therapies.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly dynamic and stimulating environment for learning, with access to state-of-the-art computational resources and a collaborative team of scientists.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply computational tools to gain insights from bulk single-cell and spatial epigenomic and transcriptomic data sets.
  • Design and execute analytical plans to perform innovative science.
  • Collaborate with a team of wet lab and computational scientists to derive novel biological insights and identify biomarkers and therapies.
  • Gain experience in grant writing and training junior scientists/students.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. degree in any discipline of biology, mathematics, or computation science.
  • Strong skills in statistics and programming, particularly in R/Python.
  • Interest in the application of state-of-the-art computational/statistical methods to complex data.
  • Experience with analysis of epigenomic data, single-cell, and spatial is highly desired.

  • Full-time postdoc position with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
