The Construction Manager-Full Performance is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and compliance with building regulations. This role involves generating detailed reports and reviewing shop drawings and submittals, providing recommendations for approval or disapproval to the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR). The Construction Manager will also notify relevant authorities of any identified safety hazards and suggest necessary corrective measures.
This position entails verifying the completion of required corrections and actively participating in project meetings. It is essential to note that the Construction Manager will not alter the project scope, cost, duration, or schedule, nor will they obligate the organization in any manner. The role includes managing project design and construction efforts, overseeing schedules, funding, and daily operations while evaluating contractor performance.
The Construction Manager will coordinate with field personnel, assess and manage project change requests, and provide comprehensive weekly status reports. Effective communication with customers, management, integrated project teams, and stakeholders is crucial. Additionally, the Construction Manager will assist the Contracting Officer and COTR in acquisition planning, execution, and administration, including conducting pre-bid and pre-construction site visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and building codes.
- Review shop drawings and provide recommendations to the COTR.
- Report non-compliant safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Verify completion of identified corrections.
- Participate in project meetings.
- Manage project design and construction efforts, including oversight of schedules and funding.
- Evaluate contractor performance and integrate projects with field personnel.
- Manage project change requests and provide weekly status reports.
- Assist in acquisition planning and execution.
- Prepare and monitor project schedules and budgets, providing technical guidance on construction-related issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent experience.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License and ability to obtain an International Driver's License.
- Valid U.S. Passport.
- Experience in construction management, including knowledge of building codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel to various locations, including remote environments.
- Work in operationally-sensitive settings and adapt to varying weather conditions.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
