Position Summary:

Coral LTC is in search of a skilled and knowledgeable attorney to fulfill the role of In-House Counsel. The successful candidate will possess a robust understanding of Texas employment legislation, healthcare compliance, contract negotiation, and litigation processes. This role is pivotal in safeguarding compliance, mitigating legal risks, and enhancing the welfare of our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer legal counsel and assistance across a diverse array of legal issues, emphasizing Texas employment legislation, healthcare compliance, contractual agreements, and litigation.
  • Guide management and personnel on adherence to state and federal laws and regulations that govern employment practices and healthcare operations.
  • Examine, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents pertinent to the facility's operations, including vendor agreements, provider contracts, and employment documents.
  • Perform legal research and remain updated on changes in Texas employment law, healthcare regulations, litigation trends, and associated fields.
  • Represent the organization in legal matters, including administrative hearings, regulatory inquiries, and litigation, as necessary.
  • Design and conduct training sessions on legal topics impacting the organization, such as employee relations, risk management, and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
  • A minimum of 5 years of legal practice experience, with a focus on Texas employment law, healthcare regulations, contract law, and litigation.
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations relevant to the long-term care sector.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and negotiation abilities.
  • Capability to operate effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Prior experience in the long-term care sector or healthcare law is advantageous but not mandatory.
