Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Property Manager Assistant to join our team at Durham Housing Authority. As a key member of our property management team, you will be responsible for performing administrative work, managing residential properties, and ensuring compliance with HUD regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shows and leases residential properties, advising prospects of amenities and facilities
  • Oversees the collection of rent payments and maintains leasing records
  • Ensures residents are provided with a safe environment and high level of customer service
  • Prepares accounting records and reports, including deposit accounting and monthly closeout
  • Delivers late rent letters and notices to vacate, and contacts those who have unpaid/owed rent
  • Assists the Property Manager in coordinating schedules for emergency on-call and managing all aspects of managing the portfolio
  • Provides essential data needed in the creation and administration of the annual site budget
  • Follows all requirements, directions, and processes set by the Finance Dept. in all financial matters for each site and the staff assigned
Requirements
  • Associates degree with coursework in business or related field and two (2) years of experience in property management administering and overseeing compliance of HUD regulations
  • Certified in Rent Calculations within one year of employment
  • Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina
