Job Overview

As CorVel continues to expand, we recognize the necessity for a skilled Business Analyst within our Business Operations Team (BOT). This team is dedicated to documenting and optimizing workflows and automation across various proprietary system applications, including CorVel's Claims Management, CareMC, and MedCheck systems.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members, software engineers, and business stakeholders to gain in-depth knowledge of bill review applications and their functionalities within our operational environments.
  • Engage with business users, technical staff, and subject-matter experts to identify, analyze, and implement requested enhancements.
  • Work alongside business stakeholders to explore new automation opportunities and enhance quality controls in our core products, adhering to team protocols for documentation.
  • Utilize process and system knowledge to diagnose and resolve intricate business challenges.
  • Follow established escalation protocols for issues that may lead to delays in release expectations.
  • Acquire comprehensive business and system knowledge to effectively contribute to projects.
  • Document and communicate all issues identified during analysis and project research.

  • Proven ability to learn systems and technical processes quickly.
  • Experience thriving in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage details and timelines for multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members with diverse communication styles.
  • Professional communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience in leading presentations and training sessions.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in the healthcare or medical/pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Familiarity with broad-based, ancillary, or PBM networks and their applications.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and technical aptitude.
  • Exposure to application development and project management fundamentals.
  • Ability to produce consistent, high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with Project and Visio is a plus.
  • Familiarity with videoconferencing applications such as Teams, Webex, or Zoom is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Desirable Skills:

  • Expertise in CorVel's claims system is preferred.
  • Experience with medical bill processing, including coding schemas such as CPT, ICD, HCPCS, NCPDP, and RBRVS.
  • Experience in PPO network development, implementation, operations, or related technology concepts.
  • Background in health industry and/or insurance billing is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with project management best practices and workflow documentation.
  • Experience with reporting and analytic tools like Power BI is a plus.

Compensation:

CorVel employs a market-based approach to compensation, with salary ranges varying based on location and other factors. Pay rates consider federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, geographic differentials, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions. Salary ranges may be adjusted at any time.
