Position: Senior Business Analyst in Life Insurance

Location: Hartford, CT

Employment Type: Full-time

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be located within a reasonable commuting distance or be open to relocating. Travel may be required.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from an accredited institution is mandatory. Candidates with three years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Information Technology is required.
  • Proven experience in Business Analysis within the Insurance sector, particularly with Life Insurance.
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale, intricate IT projects.
  • Experience on the business side is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with agile project execution is essential.
  • Experience with variable staffing models, including onsite and offshore collaboration.
  • In-depth knowledge of the life insurance domain is crucial.
  • Experience as a business analyst in New Business and Claims is preferred.
  • Understanding of various software development methodologies is beneficial.
  • Proficient in Business Analysis Standards (i.e., IIBA best practices).
  • Skilled in MS Word, Excel, Visio, MS Project, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of SharePoint, Quality Center, Rally, and JIRA is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new business concepts and complex processes.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate multiple business domains in support of projects.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams across various technology platforms.
  • Extensive expertise in managing environment issues and a solid understanding of continuous deployment and integration.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in creating requirement specifications based on architecture, design, and process detailing.
  • Proficient in capturing requirements related to internal and external consulting, documenting, and mapping current business processes.
  • Experience in development, configuration, solutions evaluation, validation, and deployment.
  • Strong Business Analysis skills, including requirements analysis, elicitation, and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent planning and coordination abilities.
  • Desire to work in a management consulting environment that may involve travel.
  • Aptitude for working in a global delivery setting.
  • Ability to draft design documents and guide stakeholders through the design process.
  • Competence in estimating the end-to-end delivery of integration projects.
  • Capability to address technical aspects and tackle complex integration challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively manage client stakeholders and internal teams at Infosys.
