Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Review Staff Accountants: Oversee the work of staff accountants and ensure that all accounting tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Lease Compliance: Review lease agreements to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, including CAM, tax billings, and operating escalations.
  • Bookkeeping and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for properties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with company internal controls and policies.
  • Year-End Work Papers: Prepare year-end work papers for tax accountants.
  • Journal Entries: Record activity at the property level via journal entries.
  • Cash Management: Manage cash flow, distributions, and other financial transactions.
  • Project Cost Accounting: Prepare and review project cost accounting reports.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Experience: 5 years of commercial real estate accounting experience or comparable public accounting experience.
  • Skills: High degree of proficiency in Excel, expertise in Yardi, MRI, or related real estate software programs.
  • Leadership: Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, determine priorities, and move projects forward without direct supervision.
