BAS Design Engineer

Location: New York, United States

Work Model: Hybrid

Salary Range: $120,000 - $135,000

Edison Smart® is a prominent international contractor and systems integrator known for executing high-profile projects globally. Our organization is recognized for its commitment to excellence in delivering state-of-the-art solutions.

As a BAS Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the execution of diverse projects spanning various industries, including life sciences, data centers, commercial spaces, and educational institutions.

This role encompasses supporting the operational efficiency of the department. The individual in this position will be expected to undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop building automation systems tailored for large commercial office buildings, data centers, and educational facilities.
  • Engage in project meetings to gather essential project details.
  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure the compatibility and feasibility of all equipment.
  • Work alongside other design engineers to provide recommended specifications.
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation, including network diagrams, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, flow diagrams, valve and damper schedules, and bills of materials for client approval and subsequent delivery to the installation team.
  • Offer technical assistance to the sales team.
  • Promote employee engagement and collaboration.
  • Ensure adherence to all quality and safety standards and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of industrial HVAC applications and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and/or Lon for system network diagrams and integration with third-party equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio is preferred; familiarity with AutoCAD or other BIM software is also advantageous.
