About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Sovah Health - Martinsville. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the planning and delivery of radiation therapy treatments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan radiation therapy treatments, including localization of target volumes, construction of blocks and immobilization devices, and calculation of radiation dose.
  • Accurately deliver radiation treatment and ensure correct parameters, appropriate documentation, and maintenance of audible and visual communication during treatment.
  • Verify patient identification before performing any procedure.
  • Communicate necessary verbal and written instructions regarding treatment reactions, skincare, and diet restrictions to the patient and report reactions and side effects to the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Assist in the preparation, insertion, and film verification of radioactive materials as required.
Requirements
  • Completion of ARRT-approved course in Radiation Therapy.
  • Current Certification by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Proficient in planning and delivering Radiation Therapy.
  • Knowledge of Radiological equipment and computer skills.
