Key Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive leadership in quality assurance for production, work transfers, and new development initiatives.
- Spearhead the implementation of the Parker Zero Defect Process, guiding suppliers in the creation of AS9145 compliant PPAP documentation, including FMEAs, control plans, and measurement systems analyses (MSAs).
- Review and endorse supplier-generated Process Flow diagrams, FMEAs, Control Plans, Capability studies, and MSAs.
- Collaborate with suppliers to enhance PPAP capabilities and ensure the quality of submissions.
- Monitor supplier quality and drive initiatives for improvement on incoming materials and components, particularly for critical suppliers.
- Manage Material Review Board (MRB) activities to address nonconforming hardware and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to refine manufacturing processes.
- Foster continuous quality improvement in supplier relationships.
- Engage in product development activities to assess engineering releases, manufacturing methods, and process specifications concerning product quality.
- Evaluate supplier performance and lead systemic efforts to eliminate defects.
- Limited travel may be required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related technical discipline. ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or CQE certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Quality Engineering within the Aerospace or Automotive sectors, encompassing design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing environments.
- Proficient in PPAP or APQP document creation and approval, with a strong understanding of variation management, SPC, PFMEA, Control Plans, and advanced quality tools.
- Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing ANSI Y14.5 for interpreting manufacturing drawings and tolerance requirements.
- Experience with various components including machined parts, castings, springs, seals, electronic components, wire harnesses, and special processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills utilizing techniques such as 8D and Six Sigma.
- Knowledge of Aerospace industry specifications and customer quality requirements, including AS9100.
- Proficient in computer applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project, with experience in tools like Netinspect, Infinity QS, Aquapro, and Minitab preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong facilitation and project management capabilities.
