Position Overview

:

This is an adjunct faculty role focused on delivering instruction in clinical or laboratory settings for undergraduate students enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The teaching responsibilities may encompass various nursing specialties, including but not limited to medical/surgical, mental health, public health, maternal health, and pediatric nursing, based on the program's current requirements.

Key Responsibilities

:
  • Instructing students in clinical environments relevant to specific nursing specialties.
  • Facilitating learning in nursing skills and simulation laboratories.
  • Assessing student performance in clinical and/or skills evaluations, including practical exams.
  • Contributing to a supportive academic atmosphere that promotes diversity and inclusive excellence within the department and the broader discipline.
  • Participating in scheduled meetings with the teaching team.

Qualifications

:

A minimum of five years of clinical experience in the relevant specialty area is required. Previous experience as a nurse educator in an academic context or as a preceptor for nursing students or new staff is advantageous.

Educational Requirements

:

Mandatory:

Master's degree in Nursing.

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Minnesota or eligibility for licensure.

Clinical practice experience in the designated specialty area.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
