Job Summary

This position plays a critical role in supporting the School of Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences by designing, creating, and implementing online extension videos and grant-funded research videos. The successful candidate will manage the POD digital library, maintain and update online videos in various formats, and provide videography and photography services for aquaculture research projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with faculty to design and develop online instructional materials and curriculum for extension and grant-funded videos.
  • Advise and instruct individuals on equipment, technology, and teaching methods for distance learning classes.
  • Design, create, and edit online video-based applications using Final Cut, Motions, and Compressor software.
  • Operate Canon video recording devices and Tandberg HD teleconference units.
  • Liaise with campus departments for video production needs and events.
  • Manage internet servers and video links.
  • Develop virtual content, graphics, and instructional materials for faculty and students.
  • Design and distribute brochures for prospective students and stakeholders.
  • Produce instructional and informational posts for public distribution and social networks.
  • Manage the KSU Aquaculture website and perform website diagnostics and design.
  • Submit technical specifications for grants.
  • Manage social virtual accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok) and provide photography support for research and extension projects.
  • Assist students with developing poster presentations for professional meetings.
  • Manage data library/storage for all virtual content.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Aquaculture, Agriculture, or Agricultural Communications with training in aquaculture communication principles and practices.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of distance learning technologies and experience using online platforms.
  • Ability to edit and convert video to multiple formats.
  • Proficient knowledge of aquaculture practices and concepts.
  • Sensitivity to diversity issues related to effective communication and interaction with persons from diverse cultures, social backgrounds, experience levels, and ages.
  • Production skills using graphics/audio/video packages such as PowerPoint, Photoshop, Final Cut, Motions, Compressor, and Keynote.
  • Familiarity with various social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube).
  • Excellent written, oral, and electronic communication skills.
  • Capacity to efficiently organize and multitask.
  • Proficient with Mac and Windows-based operating systems.
  • Able to properly use still and video cameras (Canon, Insta-360, etc.).
Working Conditions

This position is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment with no or very limited physical effort required and no or very limited exposure to physical risk.
