Position Overview
The Automotive Customer Service Consultant plays a pivotal role in fostering strong relationships with our clientele while effectively managing the service department's operations.
This position involves welcoming customers, assessing their service requirements, conducting comprehensive vehicle inspections, and promoting additional services that enhance vehicle performance and longevity.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice to customers regarding essential maintenance services.
- Diagnose mechanical issues through customer inquiries and visual assessments.
- Discuss inspection findings with customers, recommend necessary repairs, and prepare detailed work orders.
- Uphold high standards of customer satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.
- Generate repair orders that outline time, costs, and labor estimates for services rendered.
- Clearly communicate the nature of work performed and associated charges to customers.
- Schedule service appointments efficiently.
- Accompany customers on test drives to verify issues or refer them to a technician.
- Review service history, inspect vehicles, and suggest additional services as needed.
- Educate customers on vehicle maintenance and the importance of adhering to manufacturer specifications.
- Provide accurate written estimates for labor and parts.
- Secure customer approval on repair orders and provide them with a copy.
- Determine payment methods and obtain necessary credit approvals.
- Monitor repair progress throughout the day and communicate any changes in estimates or timelines to customers, ensuring proper authorization for additional work.
- Review completed repair orders to confirm all work is finished and properly authorized.
- Ensure vehicles are parked securely and keys are stored appropriately.
- Manage phone inquiries regarding appointments and ongoing services.
- Inspect vehicles for bodywork needs, informing customers and providing estimates as necessary.
- Maintain a professional appearance and keep the workspace organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a background check, including drug screening.
- Valid driver's license and eligibility for auto insurance coverage.
- Ability to meet I-9 requirements.
