Job Overview:
This position serves as an entry-level supervisory role aimed at enhancing the daily management and operations of an outpatient clinic. The focus is on ensuring that staff deliver high-quality, accessible, cost-effective, and patient-centered care to all members, adhering to local, state, and federal regulations. The supervisor will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of clinical practice standards, budget management, and staff development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversees daily staffing and workflow coordination.
  • Supervises clinic operations to ensure compliance with the Nurse Practice Act, NCQA, TJC, and all relevant regulations.
  • Addresses customer service concerns and acts as an advocate for patient care issues.
  • Conducts regular audits of both front and back office activities.
  • Assists in formulating policies and procedures while monitoring compliance.
  • Trains staff on existing and new workflows.
  • Implements and upholds patient care and quality service standards to meet the expectations of members and internal clients.
  • Evaluates and recommends process improvements to enhance systems and patient care services.
  • Determines optimal staffing levels for clinic operations.
  • Facilitates ongoing staff development and training.
  • Implements and monitors departmental policies and procedures aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with physicians and department leadership to establish appropriate patient care services and manage daily departmental operations.
  • Assists in addressing human resource, labor relations, employee safety, and risk management issues.
Qualifications:
Experience
  • At least one (1) year of experience in ambulatory care or a related healthcare field is required.
  • OR
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a leadership role.
Education
  • Associate's Degree or two (2) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) is required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A

  • Strong customer service abilities.
  • Conflict management skills.
  • Clear instructional capabilities.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and knowledge of ambulatory care practices.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulatory standards.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency with electronic health records within six months of hire.
  • Willingness to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Experience:
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory experience.

  • Responsibilities may include overseeing pre-analytical operations, including scheduling and clinical lab experience.
