The Patient Access Representative is responsible for ensuring a seamless patient experience from registration to discharge. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Verify patient identity and demographic information
- Collect and enter insurance and billing information
- Explain and collect co-payments, deposits, and outstanding balances
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure patient satisfaction
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate and timely registration
- Two years of customer service and/or data entry experience
- Previous healthcare experience preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree can be considered in lieu of experience
- Knowledge of third-party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding, and medical terminology preferred
