Fleet Mechanic Specialist

Menards is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing major and minor repairs/service work to our fleet of forklifts, cars/trucks, trailers, and other equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Inspect fleet equipment to identify and diagnose repair needs
- Perform repairs, replacements, and adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Conduct maintenance work to meet Department of Transportation (DOT) standards for over-the-road equipment
- Perform general overhaul and repair work on gasoline, diesel, propane, and battery-powered engines/equipment
- General repair, welding, and fabrication of fleet units
- Perform preventative maintenance work on vehicles, including lubrication, oil changes, and annual inspections
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment
- Record all maintenance and repair work performed
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to locate and resolve problems in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of standard practices, equipment, and tools of the fleet equipment trade
- Knowledge of forklift and automobile mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Basic welding and maintenance experience
