Job Summary

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul South Pinellas Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of our Center of Hope, a residential facility providing treatment and supportive services to veterans and non-veterans recovering from substance abuse and mental illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Ensure all check-out rooms are properly cleaned and ready for move-in, clean offices, lounges, corridors, hallways, stairwells, kitchenettes, and laundry rooms, and other work spaces of the COH.
  • Laundry and Linens: Wash and fold COH bed linens, and ensure all linens are clean and sanitized.
  • Waste Management: Empty and clean trash receptacles, and ensure all waste is disposed of properly.
  • Bathroom and Shower Cleaning: Clean and sanitize showers and bathrooms, ensuring a clean and safe environment for residents.
  • Floor Care: Sweep and mop floors, and vacuum carpets to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
  • Glass and Window Cleaning: Clean glass doors, including those in emergency exits, and clean windows to ensure a clear view.
  • Dusting and Blinds: Dust blinds and other surfaces to maintain a clean and dust-free environment.
  • Reporting and Maintenance: Monitor and report necessary repairs and replacements, and ensure all maintenance requests are addressed in a timely manner.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Safety: Comply with all applicable training requirements, company safety, personnel, and operational policies and procedures.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Contribute positively as a member of a productive and cooperative team, and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Be flexible with work hours, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent, and prior experience in housekeeping or a related field.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Basic computer skills, ability to speak, write, and understand English, and knowledge of stripping and waxing floors.
  • Physical Demands: Prolonged sitting, standing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 40 lbs., and some driving.
  • Mental Demands: Handle new and diverse work problems, resolve conflicts, and make effective decisions under pressure.
