Supportive Care Assistant

Job Type: Full-time NOC Shift
Compensation: Starting at $19.75 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Assistance with Daily Living: Provide support to residents in all aspects of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) according to personalized service plans. Report any noticeable changes in residents' physical, social, medical, or mental health to the Registered Nurse or Director. Ensure timely completion of all required documentation.
- Housekeeping Duties: Carry out daily cleaning tasks and laundry services while adhering to established policies and procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization in both work and communal areas.
- Meal Service Support: Assist with meal preparation and service, including setting up, serving, and cleaning the dining area while following sanitation and infection control protocols.
- Medication Administration: Administer prescribed oral medications, eye drops, and topical treatments as directed by the Registered Nurse, ensuring accurate documentation and immediate reporting of any medication errors.
- Activity Participation: Initiate, lead, and engage in resident activities as assigned, fostering a vibrant community atmosphere.
- Transportation: May be required to transport residents to appointments and community events using a county vehicle.
- Continuing Education: Attend a minimum of 12 hours of professional development annually.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures is advantageous.
- Familiarity with patient care techniques and protocols is beneficial.
Essential Skills:
- Effective communication skills for interaction with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- A compassionate, patient-centered approach to caregiving.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Work Schedule:
- 8-hour shifts, totaling 36 hours per week
- Includes holidays and night shifts
- Rotating weekends
