Your Role

As a Senior Auto Injury Litigation Claims Adjuster, you will play a crucial role in investigating, assessing, and resolving auto and general liability claims against members of the TASB Risk Management Fund. This position requires a high level of engagement and expertise in managing a portfolio of complex claims in litigation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into coverage and losses, assess damages, establish reserves, and negotiate settlements for complex third-party claims.
  • Collaborate closely with legal counsel to defend assigned claims.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for junior adjusters on the team.
  • Clearly communicate coverage issues and decisions to school district leaders.
  • Work with claims leadership and defense counsel to develop effective strategies for litigated claims.

Deliver exceptional claims investigations and customer service to members, claimants, and attorneys throughout the claims process.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Texas Adjuster's License relevant to the role is mandatory.
  • Professional insurance designations (CPCU, ARM, CLU, etc.) are advantageous.
  • Experience in handling litigated claims is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years in the insurance or risk management field is preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding of insurance industry practices and litigation defense strategies related to claims against governmental entities.
  • Familiarity with Governmental Immunity and the Texas Tort Claims Act.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of traffic laws, negligence, tort actions, and medical terminology.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
