About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster III to join our team at the Texas Association of School Boards. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for investigating and evaluating all assigned Workers' Compensation claims, ensuring timely payment of benefits in accordance with Texas WC statutes and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and evaluate all assigned claims in a timely manner, per departmental guidelines.
  • Provide quality service to our member districts and all injured employees.
  • Travel as required to conduct investigations and meetings.
  • Assist in training new staff and develop new procedures for claims handling.
  • Handle complex claims with some supervision, including catastrophic injuries and fatalities.
  • Maintain current adjuster license and adhere to all filing requirements.
  • Develop and implement a future plan to draw all assigned claims to a conclusion.
Requirements
  • Type 03 or 08 Texas adjusters license required, Type 08 preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' claims handling experience, with candidates having more than five years of experience handling catastrophic and fatality claims considered for a senior adjuster role.
  • Good organizational skills, effective communication skills, and ability to input and retrieve data on personal computer.
  • Ability to work with complex claims software and perform duties as directed.
