Property Field Claims Team Member

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused individual to join our Property Field Claims Team. As a member of this team, you will play a vital role in providing an outstanding experience for our members by using your investigative, negotiation, and communication skills to help them through the claim process and recover from unexpected events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and evaluate claims to determine coverage and resolve moderate to severe complexity claims.
  • Handle claims with little supervision, working with various vendor services and communicating with insureds, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
  • Explain benefits, coverages, and claims processes to members, either verbally or in writing.
  • Apply knowledge of state and federal laws, statutes, and insurance regulations throughout the claims process.
  • Maintain accurate and current claim file documentation.
  • Prepare claims estimates using Xactimate or similar estimating platforms.
  • Make recommendations to management for settlement amounts outside of authority limits.
  • Identify suspicious losses and recommend referral to SIU where appropriate.
  • Provide informal coaching to less experienced staff as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
  • At least 3 years of property claims adjusting experience with moderate to severe complexity claims.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and empathetically.
  • Proficient knowledge of Xactimate or similar estimating platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of estimating losses of moderate complexity.
  • Proficient knowledge of property claims contracts and interpretation of case law.
  • Demonstrated negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Developing knowledge of residential construction.
  • Proficiency with smartphones and various software applications.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to crouch and stoop to inspect confined spaces, including attics and crawl spaces.
  • Meet all safe driving requirements, including verification of driving record and possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more, including lifting a ladder in and out of a car trunk.
  • Ability to climb ladders and traverse roofs, including inspecting roofs and attics.
