POSITION SUMMARY

The GUNDAM franchise stands as one of BANDAI NAMCO's most treasured and esteemed intellectual properties. We are in search of a marketing expert to enhance product marketing initiatives for GUNDAM video games while fostering a productive and engaging rapport with existing fans and creators.

Reporting directly to the Senior Brand Manager for GUNDAM, the Associate Brand Manager will spearhead marketing support for live operations of current titles, assist in go-to-market planning, and oversee the execution of future game releases and various initiatives aimed at expanding the brand.

This position necessitates the management of agencies, product development partnerships, and close collaboration with our Community & PR Teams, Brand Development, Production, Licensing, Live Events, Legal, Creative Services, and international counterparts.

Ideal candidates should possess familiarity with the GUNDAM brand, video gaming, pop culture, Japanese culture, and current social media trends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the Product Marketing team to translate marketing objectives into actionable strategies and tactics for the game, ensuring schedules are maintained, KPIs are met, and documentation is regularly updated and communicated.
  • Oversee assets, internal resources, and external agencies/vendors to successfully manage all phases of product marketing, including planning and project timelines related to creative development, advertising, public relations, social media, special events, and promotions.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs and marketing expenditures against established budgets and forecasts, keeping stakeholders informed throughout.
  • Draft, proofread, and edit content for various marketing and community channels, ensuring consistency in voice and alignment with overall strategy.
  • Assist in identifying and addressing ongoing issues within the GUNDAM community while gathering feedback for live operation games and brand growth initiatives.
  • Help organize and engage in consumer-facing activations, including digital events, contests, live streams, and events to cultivate lasting relationships and advocacy among fans.
  • Connect with global GUNDAM stakeholders at headquarters and facilitate communication and content/proposal approvals with other regional leads.
  • Some domestic and international travel may be required for this role.
  • Experience with Japanese licensors and proficiency in the Japanese language is advantageous.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This is an individual contributor role.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in video game or entertainment marketing; experience in social, community, or influencer management is a plus.
  • Strong foundation in marketing principles, including market analysis, positioning, strategic planning, advertising, and public relations.
  • Proven track record in project management and P&L oversight, ideally during game launches or live operations.
  • Experience with digital marketing across web, console, and social platforms, including online marketplaces and digital content strategy development.
  • Proficient in online marketing tools, including SEM, SEO, and data analysis using Google Analytics and similar platforms.
  • Ability to utilize pivot tables and basic statistical analysis.
  • Understanding of sales and channel marketing (both physical and digital) within the video game sector, along with experience in marketing and launching digital products.
  • Experience working effectively with social media channels, influencer management, and editorial teams, preferably in conjunction with PR and community strategies.
  • Extensive knowledge or interest in video gaming, interactive entertainment, and/or Japanese animation is preferred.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, equivalent work experience in the video game and/or entertainment industry.

Salary Range: $82,147 - $104,641

The actual base salary will be determined based on various relevant business and candidate factors, including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs. The salary range provided is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
