Position Overview

NIRA, Inc. is in search of a Senior Communications Strategist to provide support for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In this pivotal role, you will work closely with FAA program leaders to devise and execute comprehensive communication plans that effectively engage both internal and external audiences. These audiences encompass senior agency executives, FAA programs/directories, Congressional offices, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and the Government Accountability Office (GAO), as well as industry and academic collaborators, and internal teams. Your contributions will be vital in articulating the FAA's mission, values, and core competencies with clarity and precision. Furthermore, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of all outputs, upholding both editorial and technical standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Communication Development: Partner with FAA leadership and stakeholders to design and implement strategies that effectively communicate FAA's mission, values, and goals.
  • Content Creation and Editing: Analyze, synthesize, and present information clearly. Review and refine various deliverables, including reports, briefings, and responses to external inquiries, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the review process for all outputs, ensuring they adhere to the highest standards of editorial and technical quality prior to submission.
  • Utilization of Communication Tools: Employ tools such as SharePoint, websites, and innovative media formats to enhance communication efforts and effectively disseminate information.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Facilitation: Lead meetings, deliver presentations, and manage communications with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering robust relationships with FAA organizations, industry, and academic partners.
  • Communication Strategy Optimization: Continuously evaluate and refine communication strategies to align with changing FAA priorities and ensure effective stakeholder engagement.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in communications, program management, or technical writing.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with a proven track record of effectively engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment while working independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting Federal Government communication needs.
  • Experience in data visualization for presentation purposes.
  • Experience in creating multimedia presentations.
