Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to safety protocols, policies, and procedures. Implement Good Manufacturing Practices, maintain cleanliness, and ensure product quality. Report any safety or quality concerns to management promptly.
  • Operate, clean, and assist with preventive maintenance of filling machinery according to established schedules, troubleshooting equipment as necessary.
  • Follow all Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production and sanitation.
  • Proactively coordinate changeover activities for filling machines and date coding, ensuring the Supervisor is informed of necessary resources and communications, escalating issues as they arise.
  • Ensure optimal line efficiency while managing equipment to minimize product and packaging losses.
  • Meet daily production targets for the filling area.
  • Maintain effective communication with Pasteurizer operators and the Packaging department to support seamless operations.
  • Engage actively in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct and document quality checks and downtime events promptly using the designated system.
  • Demonstrate proper handling and usage of cleaning agents while utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Operate motorized material handling equipment safely.
  • Notify the Supervisor of significant mechanical issues and report any system irregularities to mitigate risks to the system or product.
  • Restock chemical supplies as necessary to uphold sanitation standards.
  • Manage inventory usage and entries in the inventory management system.
  • Test and monitor chemical concentrations to ensure compliance with cleaning specifications.

  • Participate actively in safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Provide training to new employees as needed.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

EXPERIENCE:
1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in machinery operation, with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and product specifications.

  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) for weight management.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

  • 2+ years of experience operating high-speed, complex filling equipment in a food manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with food manufacturing processes and GMPs.
  • Maintain a positive and engaging demeanor with colleagues.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedural manuals. Effective communication skills with team members.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations.
  • Ability to apply common sense to follow oral instructions and address problems with standardized solutions.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
