Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare and plate all food items to our recipes and standards, ensuring that every dish that leaves the kitchen looks and tastes great.
- Quality Control: Visually inspect all food items coming into and leaving the kitchen to ensure that they meet our high standards.
- Menu Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of our menu and be able to identify and prepare all menu items.
- Inventory Management: Familiarity with weighing and measuring ingredients, and the ability to manage inventory levels to minimize waste and ensure that we have the necessary ingredients to meet customer demand.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Set up, break down, and clean all stations and kitchen areas, ensuring that they are clean and sanitized at all times.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect the work area to ensure that all equipment is operable and sanitary, and report any issues to the management team.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to local, state, and federal health code and sanitation rules, and ensure that all food is stored, handled, and served in accordance with these regulations.
- Teamwork: Assist in completing all daily duties, and work collaboratively with other team members to ensure that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Uniform and Grooming: Wear proper uniform at all times while at work, and maintain a clean and professional appearance.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation and Expediting: Prepping, preparing, cooking, and expediting food, including a la carte and banquet meals.
- Inventory Management: Notifying the management team of any food shortages or broken equipment.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time, and lift 50 pounds.
- Professionalism: Demonstrate a commitment to upholding professional standards in the work environment, and deal with co-workers in a professional manner.
- Safety and Emergency Procedures: Ensure that all safety, emergency, and sanitation policies are followed, and report any violations to the management team.
- Additional Duties: Assist with doing dishes and other cleaning tasks as needed, and put away truck deliveries while maintaining correct food hierarchy and FIFO.
Qualifications:
- Work Ethic: A strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow.
- Food Safety Certifications: Food safety certifications are encouraged, but not required.
