Position: Middle School Educator at Holy Name of Mary School

The Middle School Educator at Holy Name of Mary School embodies and promotes Catholic principles while guiding students in their spiritual growth by serving as a role model of Catholic values both inside and outside the classroom.

As an integral member of the educational team, you will manage the classroom by providing tailored instruction to cater to each student's unique requirements and fostering an optimal learning environment. Collaboration with the lead teacher to address individual student development and needs is essential for ensuring academic growth and achievement.

Educators are expected to reflect the school's mission and values, adhere to the policies of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and comply with the regulations outlined in the staff and parent handbooks of Holy Name of Mary, as well as follow directives from school leadership.

This role is crucial in nurturing a faith-centered environment and enhancing student learning under the guidance of the classroom teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage student development, progress, and self-esteem.
  • Provide individualized and small group instruction, executing tasks as directed by the lead teacher.
  • Foster a supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each assigned student.
  • Exhibit flexibility in the daily educational setting.
  • Comply with the Code of Ethical Conduct.
  • Adhere to all workplace regulations, including standards of employee conduct, anti-harassment policies, electronic communication guidelines, and social media protocols.
  • Utilize technology assessment tools effectively.
  • Maintain an engaging classroom environment that balances discipline with a passion for learning.
  • Collaborate efficiently with all school personnel.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the principal.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher. Credential preferred.
  • Full-Time Position.
  • Experience: Prior instructional experience preferred.

Skills / Knowledge:

  • Practicing Catholic with a thorough understanding of the Catholic Church preferred.
  • Familiarity with Holy Name of Mary School.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of educational operations.
  • Compliance with established guidelines for bloodborne pathogens, CPR, and first aid training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and relevant software.
  • Ability to integrate technology effectively.
  • Build relationships, work independently, and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Compensation:

The salary for this position is determined based on internal pay policies and budget considerations. Typically, new hires receive compensation at the lower end of the wage range, taking into account factors such as skills, experience, training, and departmental needs.
